What type of clothes should I bring on my Dubai vacation?
Dubai is a strictly Muslim nation, although the majority of the population are expats. Smart casual dress is recommended for exploring, avoid crop tops, short skirts, vests and short shorts. Swimwear is accepted on the beach. When entering mosques wear long pants or skirt and cover your shoulders and head. Headscarves are usually available to rent.
Can I drink alcohol on my visit to Dubai?
Although you won’t find alcohol for sale in supermarkets, you will find alcohol available in most hotels and resorts. It is forbidden to drink alcohol in public. Be respectful at all times and if you do drink, do so in moderation.
Are there any religious restrictions that may affect my vacation?
When visiting Dubai during Ramadan, you will find it difficult to find food during the day as many restaurants will be closed to respect daytime fasting. It is forbidden to eat, drink or smoke in public during daylight hours during Ramadan.
